The @fig_tree_farm_hillcrest Padel Court project aimed to integrate a modern facility into the farm’s historic, rustic setting. Established in 1896 and opened to the public in 2020, Fig Tree Farm is a popular community hub in Hillcrest, offering eateries, retail stores, and event spaces. The addition of four padel courts, opened on June 29, 2024, enhances the farm`s appeal by introducing a rapidly growing sport.
Set on Hillcrest’s rolling hills, the courts are arranged to blend with the landscape, creating interesting spaces between them. The courts incorporate natural materials and muted tones that contrast with the sleek glass surfaces, complementing the farm’s aesthetic.
The roofs, inspired by barn structures, feature translucent polycarbonate sheeting, giving the courts a light, ethereal quality while respecting the farm’s traditional character. Teams Involved /
