The new lodge comprises of 9 guest tents, an arrival sala/ main lodge, pool and wellness center. Based on traditional tent design, the tents have been conceptualised and detailed from scratch without the input of a specialist tent designer. The result is a unique, crafted and hybrid language of tent that reveals the beauty of camping.  

Shading and privacy are provided by an outer canvas covered portal structure which spans across and protects the inner tent. By the inclusion of this and other passive design features (the light footprint, the use of local tent technologies, inclusion of natural light and cross ventilation) this off-the-grid design wholly embraces the One Planet sustainability framework adopted by Singita.  

All aspects of the design combine to create a new tent ‘architecture’ that is familiar and yet delightfully surprising.
